Neighborhoods Commission members Elsie Aranda and Ted Johnson
Disbanded and in limbo for four months, San Jose’s Neighborhoods Commission (http://www NULL.sanjoseca NULL.gov/Clerk/commissionboard/nc/nc NULL.asp)was revived on Tuesday, October 23, by a unanimous vote from San Jose City Council.
The council voted to allows the commission to continue meeting as a pilot project until the end of the fiscal year, June 30, 2013. But the council stopped short of approving a permanent Neighborhoods Commission.

Helping homeless is a council priority.
Helping the homeless, cracking down on marijuana collectives and keeping tattoo parlors away from youth are among priorities (http://www NULL.sanjoseca NULL.gov/clerk/Agenda/20121009/20121009_02 NULL.pdf) set by the San Jose City Council at a special meeting on Tuesday, October 9.
The council designated nine new items from a list of 33, but will continue to work first on its Top 10 priorities chosen in February 2011.
“It’s a waiting list,” explained Mayor Chuck Reed, rather than a new priority list. As the original Top 10 ordinances are completed, others will move up the list.
